On this page, you will find ready-made questions and answers related to car rentals from CAR-AKAS.

  1. Valid Driver’s License – A full and valid driver’s license held for at least 5 years. An International Driving Permit (IDP) may be required for non-EU licenses.
  2. Identification – A valid passport or national ID card.
  3. Credit/Debit Card – A valid credit or debit card in the driver’s name for the security deposit.
  4. Minimum Age Requirement – The minimum age to rent a car is 24 years old. Additional fees may apply for young or senior drivers.
  5. Reservation Confirmation – A booking confirmation or voucher if applicable.

The mileage policy depends on the rental agreement and the vehicle category. We offer unlimited mileage:

  • Unlimited Mileage: You can drive as many kilometers as you like without extra charges.
You need to be over 24 and not more than 75. If you are between 21 and 23 or more than 75, it is possible to rent a car from CAR-AKAS by paying an extra fee, 25€/reservation.

The minimum rental period is one day (24h) for all car categories.After the 24-hour rental period expires and a 60-minute grace period passes, an additional charge for one full day at the agreed rental rate will apply.

 A charge of €25.00 will apply.

Car categories are guaranteed according to the initial booking. In exceptional cases, Car-akas Car Rental reserves the right to change the car category if deemed necessary.

Driving the rental car outside Greek borders is only allowed with prior written authorization from CAR-AKAS. Additional insurance and fees may apply. Failure to obtain approval may result in a violation of the rental agreement and potential penalties.
Please contact us in advance if you plan to travel outside Greece with your rental car.

Our fuel policy requires that the vehicle be returned with the same fuel level as it was provided.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling charge will apply along with the cost of the missing fuel.
Please ensure the fuel level matches the original amount to avoid additional charges.

The deposit is fully refundable if the cancellation is made at least 10 days prior to the arrival date during high season (April–October), or at least 30 days prior during low season (November–March).
For cancellations made after these periods, the deposit is non-refundable.

Smoking is allowed in the vehicle. However, if any damage is proven to be caused by smoking (such as burns or stains), additional charges will apply.

Pets are allowed, but they must be transported in a special carrier. If any dirt or mess caused by the pet is found in the vehicle, additional charges will apply for a deep cleaning service.

All fines and administrative penalties are the renter’s responsibility.

Extensions are allowed with approval from Car-akas and are subject to the availability of the vehicle.
